Boosting a post only optimizes for engagement (likes, shares, comments).
This can be great for growing brand awareness and getting more eyes on your business, but on average only 2% of first time website visitors take the desired action you want them to take. This means you need to help guide people through the sales funnel – from becoming a lead all the way to becoming a loyal supporter.
Yes, engagement is great and all, but businesses need to SELL something – a product, service or whatever it may be.
Instead of only optimizing for engagement, you should optimize for other things depending on the area of the funnel you are targeting.
