Are ads right for your business?
The truth is, not every single business should run Facebook and Instagram ads for various reasons.
To help you understand whether you and your business are a fit for Facebook & Instagram ads or not, I put together criteria that you must meet:
- Your offer has been validated (meaning people are interested and you’ve had success in selling it – be it a course, service, or product).
- You understand trial and error is part of the process (it may take a month or two to figure things out, that’s the name of the game – testing, testing, and adjusting).
- You have realistic goals (this is a biggie – you cannot expect to spend $500 on ads and make $50,000… it just does not work that way).
- You are willing to test new strategies (it sounds similar to the one above, but this is referring to strategies within your business – may it be a website refresh, landing page recreation, new ad images or copy, etc.).
- You are looking to add an ad manager as an extension to your marketing team (ads gain momentum the longer they run, which is why I recommend always having ads running, even if there’s just a small budget to keep them running at times. Every time you start and stop ads, ads manager has to start over with collecting new data).
- You have an ad spend of at least $500 per month (I actually highly recommend a minimum of $1,000 per month, but $500 is the absolute minimum. The point here is to have an ad spend that will support your campaigns and your goals).
If you checked yes to all of these things, GREAT you are ready to start running ads!
If you didn’t check yes to all of these, then it’s not time to start running ads for your business, yet, and that is okay.
